Why cook that when you got Mr Noodles instant noodles?

@expatbritingermany You are correct. He says “Childs” over and over again not referring to the possessive. He makes MANY mistakes about Child. The title should be “Jeremiah Tower’s Roast Chicken”, but it would not get so many hits. Child and Tower never cooked this together. It was Tower’s recipie that he cooked on a show that Child hosted, but did no cooking on and the two never appeared on camera together. Chef George wants hits so he pulled a Julie Powell and used Child’s name to get them.

@ShamusMacGuffin – hmmm, sounds like a really good combination. I’m going to try that! (I also love mashed potatoes with parsnip and cheddar cheese, but I’m not sure if that would go with this chicken recipe!)

Made this recipe a few hours ago for dinner, served it with garlic mashed potatoes and a nice burgundy wine. Fabulous recipe, I wanted to drown in that jus, I absolutely loved the flavor, wonderful balance of acidity and salt with a very fragrant bouquet of herbs.

@LilDesiMac I can relate to her. Plants stay in the salad so you can reluctantly eat them there, they shouldn’t be migrating over to ruin the best part.

Oh I see. Yeah, I had a little cousin who hated herbs. She told me it was like she was eating the forest/a garden.

@assoossa – why are you making such a big thing of this? As an experienced teacher of the English language, I know very well what the possessive case is – but towards the end of this clip, the commentator clearly says ‘this was a dish Julia Childs loved”. You might not believe it, but in some (probably most) areas of the world, she is completely unheard of (at least before Meryl Streep made her better known in a film), so I see my question as perfectly polite and reasonable.

@expatbritingermany Well, then, let me tell you that your degree was a fat lot good…seriousely, pointing out this –>”Wasn’t it Julia Child, rather than ‘Childs” and not realizing that the ” ‘s” stands as the possessive case, makes you a major failure. Maybe you should buy some english grammar basic books, instead of cooking. Educate yourself, you’re always in time despite you age. Cheers.

@assoossa – despite my university education, I find myself unable to understand your comment. I seem to remember saying that I would like to cook this dish – what the Dickens is wrong with that?? Just because I can express myself in grammatically correct sentences doesn’t make me stupid (and I’m not, as you call it a ‘dude’, but a ‘lady’ ;-) ))

@LilDesiMac Just the texture. If I want to eat chicken, I don’t want little fragments of leaves in it. It just ruins the experience for me.

I’ve never heard of that reduction thing he did over the watercress, that sounds like a great idea, is this pretty common, using the fat, etc?
